Estimation of Pre-1960 Water Levels at Parry Sound on Georgian Bay

Abstract
Review of the impact of Glacial Isostatic Adjustment (GIA) on Georgian Bay water levels. A 1901-2006 time series of representative summertime water levels at Parry Sound was generated by combining the 1960-2006 recorded water level data from Parry Sound with estimates for the 1901-1959 time period based on linear water level transfers from Harbor Beach. Sources of error are discussed, and the time series is validated to the extent possible.
