Syed Moin has worked most of his 32-year career at Environment Canada. For the first 15 years he was the program engineer for implementing Department’s successful Flood Damage Reduction Program. He has also worked progressively supporting IJC’s various References in the Great Lakes in the areas of hydraulic modelling, optimization of the Great Lakes system and managing Hydrology and Hydraulics Technical Working Group. He was appointed Canadian Chair for the International Rainy Lake Board of Control and International Lake of the Woods Control Board. He also represented the federal government on the Canadian Lake of the Woods Control Board. He was consulted by the World Meteorological Organization, United Nation Disaster Preparedness and UNESCO for international projects in Mexico, Jamaica and Iran. He is an Adjunct Professor at McMaster University teaching courses in water resources management.
