Kay Felt joined Dykema Gossett in Detroit in 1967 and was
its first woman member. Experienced in corporate and
securities law, she was the first leader of the firm’s
health care group and has been listed in Best Lawyers in
America for over 10 years.. She belongs to the American
Bar Association (past chairperson, Committee on Health
Reform), the State Bar of Michigan (past chairperson,
Medical Legal Problems and Awards Committees) and the Ohio
State Bar Association. She is past president, director and
fellow of the American Health Lawyers Association, and the
first president of the Michigan Society of Hospital
Attorneys. The National Law Journal listed her among
20 outstanding health care attorneys in the U. S. Having
served on a wide range of public policy task forces,
commissions and community boards, she is a fellow of the
American and Michigan Bar Foundations, was University of
Michigan Alumna in Residence (1987), received the Michigan
Business and Professional Association distinguished service
award for business and professional leadership (1996), and
the Michigan Hospice and Palliative Care Association
educator of the year award (2002) and was included in
Crain’s Detroit Business listing of 100 influential
women in Southeast Michigan (1997).
