Aaron Thompson
B.Eng. – Civil Engineering, McMaster University
M.A.Sc. – Water Resources Engineering, McMaster University
Aaron Thompson has worked in the Boundary Water Issues
Unit of Environment Canada as a hydraulic engineer since
1999. Over that time,
he has developed expertise in the development and
application of hydrodynamic models for the Great Lakes
Connecting Channels.
He has been active in collecting, verifying and analyzing
hydraulic data to use in the development and application of
numerical models. Mr.
Thompson provides hydraulic expertise in reviewing project
proposals under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act
that can potentially impact Great Lakes water levels and flows.
He is currently a member of the International
Coordinating Committee of Great Lakes Basic Hydraulic and
Hydrologic Data, Hydraulic Sub-committee.
He brings past experience on IJC studies from the IJC
Lake Ontario and St. Lawrence River Study where he was a
member of the Hydraulics and Common Data Needs Technical
Working Groups. Mr.
Thompson is a licensed Professional Engineer in the
Province
of Ontario.
