Dr. Tony Eberhardt is Manager of the International Water Resources Program for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Institute for Water Resources and U.S. Manager of the International Upper Great Lakes Study. Between 2001 and 2006, he worked for the U.S. Department of State as U.S. Manager of the Lake Ontario-St. Lawrence River Study for the International Joint Commission (IJC).
Prior to 2001, he was Water Management Team Leader with the Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District and Alternate U.S. Regulation Representative to the International St. Lawrence River Board of Control. During his 23 years with the Buffalo District he held leadership roles and participated in all Great Lakes water management studies conducted by the IJC. He received a doctorate in water resources and environmental engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1992.
Dr. Eberhardt is a New York State licensed Professional Engineer, a Diplomate Water Resource Engineer of the American Academy of Water Resource Engineers and a Fellow of ASCE. He is also a Fellow of SAME and a Member of AWRA, NSPE and the International Association for Great Lakes Research. He was the 1994 recipient of the ASCE Can-Am Amity Award and 1992 recipient of their Government Civil Engineer of the Year Award for Zone I. Dr. Eberhardt has prepared numerous papers and presentations on International Joint Commission and Great Lakes topics.
