Mr. Rose currently serves at the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Soo Locks facility in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan as the Chief of the Operations Branch. His primary responsibility is for operations of the navigational locks and hydropower capabilities located at the facility.
Before arriving in Sault Ste. Marie in 1997, Mr. Rose was assigned as a design engineer at the U.S. Navy’s Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, Indiana. Mr. Rose also served early in his engineering career as a Project Engineer for the McDonnell Douglas Corporation in St. Louis, Missouri, assigned to the F-15 Aircraft Program.
Mr. Rose is a retired U. S. Army Corps of Engineer officer with over 25 years of service for the Active, Reserve, and National Guard components, retiring in 2001 at the rank of Major.
Mr. Rose is a native of Saranac, Michigan. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1986 from Michigan Technological University where he was also a graduate of Army ROTC. He holds Professional Engineering credentials through the State of Wisconsin.
He currently resides in Pickford, Michigan, loves Tim Horton’s Coffee and is father to three marvelous children, Rachel, Matthew, and Abigail.
