Christopher A. Baines

Christopher joined PIAG in 2010, representing the Georgian Bay Association.

He is a long-time, fourth-generation resident of the bay. His background is in Great Lakes issues, having served in the 1980s as director of the Centre for Great Lakes – a bi-national environment-economic think tank. He also has worked at Queen’s Park for the Ontario government, as executive assistant to two cabinet ministers and a consultant to local governments. Since 1997, Christopher has been a roster mediator for the Ontario government and works in private practice helping families and organizations resolve their conflicts.

He has also worked in publishing and human resources, assisting organizations with candidate selections. Christopher serves on many charitable boards on both sides of the Canadian-U.S. border.

An avid sailor, Christopher has sailed all the Great Lakes and completed the Mackinaw and Trans- Superior Races. Christopher lives in Georgian Bay with his wife and two children, and works in Toronto.
