The Lake Superior Task Team (LSTT) is examining whether the regulation plan for outflows from Lake Superior through the compensating works and power dams on the St. Marys River at Sault Ste. Marie might be improved to take into consideration changing interests and changing climate. The LSTT oversees and supports the work of ten Technical Work Groups (TWGs):
Integration TWGs:
Performance Indicator TWGs:
Each TWG was formed to examine specific issues related to the development of regulatory options. Performance Indicator TWGs represent interest groups and are working to identify and describe baseline conditions and key trends and to determine how their interest adapts to changing water levels and how it may be affected by various regulation plans. Integration TWGS are tasked with assessing and incorporating relevant information provided by the Performance Indicator TWGs to guide the development and evaluation of alternative regulation plans for review by the Study Board.
